Holistic massage which includes

A holistic massage is nothing more than a massage from the feet to the head. We recommend it to those who dream of a moment of rest and relaxation, those whose everyday life or work causes stress, those who live on the run, those who are overworked, those who spend too much time on the couch, and those who are active. A holistic massage is literally for everyone. Regardless of whether you want us to do a relaxing massage, a classic massage or a therapeutic massage, we will adapt it to your needs and perform a comprehensive massage you expect.

The scope of the holistic massage and duration

A full body massage lasts from 60 to 90 minutes. The difference is in the length of massaging the individual parts of the body. Usually, the masseur spends more time on the most tense and overloaded places, or those that you would like him to pay attention to. Depending on your preferences, you can do it first lying on your stomach and then on your back, or vice versa. If we decide on the first option, the back and neck will be massaged first, then the feet, calves and the back of the thighs. Then you will be asked to lie down on your back. First, the front of the legs will be massaged, then both hands. If you wish to do so during the 90-minute massage before the hand massage, it is possible to include the massage, abdominal massage and buttock massage.

If you prefer the spine to be massaged last, the massage will begin with lying on the back. The hands will be massaged first, possibly the abdomen and the front of the legs. After lying on your stomach, your calves and the back of your thighs will be massaged first, then your back and neck. There will also be a massage of the buttocks and thighs. Whether the masseur performs a classic full body massage or a holistic relaxing massage, the order of the massaged parts of the body is the same. This is what a standard full body massage looks like. Of course, we can modify it depending on your needs. We can include the buttocks massage in the full body massage, extend the back massage on request or perform a more intense massage around the joints. After all, massages and treatments that we perform for the whole body are for you.

From entrance to exit

If you have come to a professional masseur or physiotherapist, the first thing you will be asked for after entering the office, of course, after greeting and introducing you, will be to familiarize yourself with the contraindications for massage. The masseur will conduct a thorough interview with you regarding your health condition and your needs. In addition, it will dispel any of your concerns. You may also be asked about the music you prefer, the scent of essential oils or the scent of olives that you will be massaging. It is a very good addition to massage, which enhances its relaxing effect. We are very often afraid or ashamed to go to a massage, because we do not know if we need to undress during a massage. Yes, because after the interview and signing all the necessary consents, you should undress. Of course, you can stay in underwear or even shorts, if it is more comfortable for you.

When you are ready, the therapist will ask you to lie on your stomach or back. It is important that unmasked body parts are covered with a towel or blanket. It will save you from fighting a cold. The feeling of warmth additionally relaxes and puts you in a positive mood. Then the masseur proceeds to perform the procedure. Using alternate stroking, rubbing prepares individual parts of the body and joints for touch and further massage. After you have done all the massage that you already know what it covers in the previous paragraph, slowly sit down, then get up and get dressed. After leaving the office, if it is possible, it is worth to rest in the waiting room for a while, drink hot tea and then return home.
Classic massage, therapeutic massage, relaxing massage, description of techniques

We divide massage techniques into five basic movements that we make during our work. These include stroking, rubbing, kneading, patting and vibrating. We will use all techniques when performing classic massage. However, when you choose a relaxing massage, instead of stronger kneading or patting, we will apply stroking, thanks to which your body has the opportunity to relax even more through the action of the masseur. When doing a classic massage or a relaxing massage, each technique is performed in accordance with the direction of the venous blood. We repeat the techniques several times to get the massaged skin part used to the touch.

Stroking is a massage technique that every therapist begins and ends with a massage. During the massage of the whole body, we perform it on each massaged part. It consists in light, measured movements of the hand, which adapts to the contours and shape of the massaged body. Depending on the pressure, we divide them into superficial and deep. The task of this most frequently used classical massage technique is to remove exfoliated epidermis and skin secretions, and to shift the venous blood and lymph towards the heart. Thanks to this, our skin is better nourished, stagnation and swelling are reduced.

The second massage technique is rubbing. We also perform this technique, just like stroking, on each part of the body being massaged. Using reciprocating and circular movements, we move deeper layers. Characteristic for this massage technique is the generation of heat, and thus improving the blood supply and nourishment of the massaged tissues.

Immediately after rubbing, there is a classic massage technique called kneading. This technique is usually omitted during a relaxing massage. We use it when working on large muscle groups. It consists in lifting, pressing and squeezing out the massaged tissue. The kneading is to push the blood, lymph and used substances away, making room for nutrients. With this technique, we stimulate the muscle fibers, thanks to which they contract more efficiently and are better nourished. By using kneading, we make the muscles regenerate faster after physical activity, their strength and endurance increases.

The massage technique we usually fear is patting. Of course, when performing relaxation treatments, we avoid patting, because it has a stimulating effect. We also do not use it during hand massage. Short-term, quick successive spring blows also cause severe congestion. In our work, we can pat lightly, medium or heavily. For this purpose, we use massage techniques such as broom, spoon, pincer and fist tapping.

The last technique for full body massage is vibration. It consists in transmitting vibrations coming from the masseur’s hand, introducing the massaged part into rhythmic vibrations. After using this classic massage technique, the muscle excitability is reduced and the muscle fibers are stimulated, increasing their functional efficiency. We always end the whole massage with stroking.

How should you prepare for a massage?

Before coming to the physiotherapist or masseur, it is best to find out if you have any contraindications to performing treatments for the whole body. A few quite important ones are: cancer, the first trimester of pregnancy or varicose veins. If you have any doubts, it is best to consult your doctor or physiotherapists in the office. Wear comfortable underwear and clothes that will not restrict your movements and will be easy to remove. Take a shower before arriving for a massage. If you are unable to return home, there is a bathroom with a shower in the office, which you can use before or after the massage. Clean and fragrant, you will not have to be ashamed or wonder if you are dirty. It will be pleasant for both you and the masseur. Come a little earlier, it’s always better to wait a while, use the restroom and enjoy the full massage time. If you are late, we will most likely have to shorten your relaxation time. It is also very important that if for any reason you cannot appear for the massage, it is best to report it in advance if possible. Another client will be able to sign up for your place, and we will not have a gap in the schedule.
Advantages of a holistic massage

Undoubtedly, the advantage of a holistic massage is that these treatments do not apply to individual sections, but have a holistic and comprehensive effect on your body. We very often think that back massages are enough to make you feel better. Certainly, it will not be confirmed by anyone who has ever dealt with a full body massage. Moreover, for an hour or an hour and a half, we are able to relax better and fully feel all the movements that the physiotherapist makes. In addition, a relaxing massage or a classic massage are treatments that should be repeated regularly. If we work on the surface of the whole body, the massage will bring even better results (thigh massage, buttock massage, limb, back and abdominal massage). Thanks to the fact that your back and neck are massaged, your head will not hurt so much, and the sitting position will become a little more bearable, the painful points on the neck or between the shoulder blades will disappear. Swollen legs or arms will undergo a metamorphosis and will gain more strength and look better. In addition, it is a very pleasant and relaxing treatment that will give you more energy to live.

Foot massage to Health

The feet contain zones that represent all the internal organs and parts of the body, so they accumulate stress directly related to the feet but also to the whole person.

The science of the connection between parts and the whole

When referring to reflexology or reflexology, most people first think of foot reflexology. But foot treatment is part of a large family of reflexology-based methods, including bioenergy, chi-ki or prana. Reflexology is the science that studies the relationships and connections between parts and the whole, the connection between the interior and the exterior, using these connections to restore balance – healing. When harmony is restored, self-healing processes are initiated. Because of this approach, reflexotherapy can successfully cope with syndromes, chronic and other health problems when the cause cannot be diagnosed.

The two main branches of reflexology are macro and micro reflexology systems. Macro reflexology systems are acupuncture / acupressure, bioenergy healing, prana, chakra healing. These systems treat points or zones on the body, acting indirectly through reflexes on the whole body, even at “little more than the body.” The physical body is wrapped in thin energy bodies that form an aura around the body. And as the bioenergy vibrates with finer frequencies, it extends into the realm of spirituality. The principle of bioenergy methods could be summed up in a few sentences: “both inside and out.”, “Both up and down.”, “Both in Heaven and on Earth.”

Unlike macro systems, micro reflexology systems treat only a part of the body and affect the entire body, for example the foot, hands, ears, but there are many more. The iris, tongue, teeth, nose, face …, a total of 22 micro reflexology systems are listed. They are most often part of traditional medical systems and their tradition is several thousand years old.

Feet accumulate stress

Reflexology foot massage is different from ordinary foot massage because it takes into account the zones on them that are connected to particular parts of the body. Introductory relaxation is similar to regular massage, but treating the foot zones at first is uncomfortable and painful. True relief comes only after treatment. Still, it’s worth the trouble because the effect is exceptional. For more serious health problems, one therapy consists of at least 10 – 15 treatments, which are performed every other day. The day between breaks serves to cleanse the body of the stress relieved, which is usually pushed into reflexological zones for years.

The popularity of foot reflexology “thanks” to several of its features. First of all because the feet are very stressed. They carry the full weight of the body, and an additional, essential source of physical stress are the hard surfaces in urban areas, shoes and jobs that put particular strain on the feet. At the psychic level, the feet are the part of the body that accumulates stress related to material problems, fear for existence, experiences of “moving forward” or “running away” in any form. We could jokingly say that the feet are the “basement” of our being, into which we “thrust” all that we do not know what to do with it. that all that is surplus is deposited in our feet.

They contain zones representing all internal organs and body parts. The body protects organs by storing stress in foot zones or other reflexological systems such as hands or ears. In this way, besides the stresses directly related to the feet, they also accumulate reflexologically related to the whole person.

Foot reflexology is thought to have a 6000 year old tradition. The first drawings were found in the Egyptian priramids. Of similar ages are “zone maps” from India. Foot treatment can also be found in traditional Chinese medicine. This ancient knowledge was first transmitted to Europe, to the United Kingdom, and there are records from French sources. Subsequently, the knowledge was transferred to the US, and then worldwide.

There are numerous foot reflexology schools today that can be classified in several directions. The English direction does not use oil in the treatment, it is done “dry”, and the point treatment of the zones is emphasized, or in the professional jargon “punching”. The over-represented direction in the US uses oil in the treatment, with longer, sliding movements. The direction that has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of foot zones uses sticks, which are sometimes wooden and some are stone or crystal. On this trail, a special method was developed that combines crystal therapy and zone treatment. The fourth direction deals with all previous lymphatic circulation, the disorder of which can be very pronounced in the legs, especially the feet.

Anatomy of reflexological zones on the foot

The human neurological system is “topologically” organized, which means that nerve fibers from one part of the body in the spinal cord are always in one place. At the top of the spinal cord, and especially in the lower parts of the brain, these neurological connections form “homunculus” or “human”. This pattern is also repeated in the higher parts of the brain, which allows the brain to know on which part of the body the stimuli are occurring, or which parts of the body need to be triggered. A very similar principle is the principle of reflexological systems.

In the “vertical” the whole body is divided into ten zones, which are reflexologically represented on the foot. As some teachers like to say in pictures, the zones are stacked over each other like when you put your clothes in your travel bag! Horizontally the most important landmarks are three lines – the line of the stitch, the line of the waist and the line of the hips. When everything comes together, there is a “little man” on his foot, lying on his back with his legs bent.

Active zone detection

The basic diagnostic method is to detect active zones that are specifically painful to pressure. In addition to this type of diagnostics, radioesthesia or manual muscle testing (applied kinesiology) is often used. It is important to note that zones can be active (painful) even before a pathological condition develops in the body, therefore they cannot be diagnosed with disease with the help of foot treatment! But the active reflexology zone is a sign of alarm because it speaks to the overload of stress in a particular part of the body. If the trend of stress buildup continues, it’s only a matter of time before the subclinical problem gets worse enough to become a disease.

Relaxation – balance – critical points – massage

As mentioned, indications for foot reflexology treatment are stress overload at multiple levels and locations in the body, chronic diseases, subclinical problems that create severely unbearable problems, and situations where an undiagnosed symptom cannot be diagnosed.

Problems that are not a strong side of foot reflexology are all turbulent, acute problems that need to be addressed quickly. Extreme care should also be taken in situations where health problems could be out of control, such as in heart patients, severe mental health problems and the like.

Contraindications are injured feet, skin diseases and neurological problems associated with the feet.

The treatment itself can take anywhere from ten to 45 minutes. Shorter treatments are more commonly administered when part of a longer therapy, when targeted at an already “known foot”. The complete treatment begins with introductory relaxation, followed by a balance of digestion, the locomotor system (spine, bones and muscles) and communication systems (lymph, bloodstream, nerves and bioenergy). This is followed by focused action on critical points and a final foot massage.

For preventative action, foot treatment is tailored to each individual. For more severe health problems, at least 10 to 15 treatments should be systematically done in one therapy. This is followed by a break that lasts at least as long as the therapy itself. Therapies can be repeated in a cycle of two to three. During this time, one can clearly see what can be done. As we often encounter a complex or unclear situation, it takes time for the reactions to be “clarified” and to gain a clearer insight into the situation. Patience is also required for chronic problems, as it has taken several years to create the problem. Since no aggressive methods or means are used, it takes time to achieve positive results. Satisfactory speed is one month of therapy per year of health problem creation. But this ratio is often significantly “faster”.

Miracles do happen, but they cannot be ordered. In twenty-five years of practice, I have seen and participated in many. In a holistic approach to health, it is not the person but the disease that is treated. Therefore, reflexology foot massage is an exceptional method that can do a great deal for your health. For its simplicity, you can apply it yourself. Health is not just the absence of disease. The goal is quality of life, and foot massage is a powerful tool for achieving this goal.
